Meet the Maker Behind Steel River Customs

I believe the best custom work starts with listening to the person it’s being built for.

My name is Danny, and I’m the owner and builder behind Steel River Customs in Litchfield, Illinois.

My hands-on construction background taught me the importance of careful planning, accurate measurements, dependable materials and doing things right from the start. Today, I combine that experience with my passion for woodworking, CNC carving and custom fabrication.

I create custom signs, cedar shutters, doors, furniture, epoxy projects, wood-and-metal pieces and select welding repairs. Whatever I’m building, my goal is the same: create something that looks good, works properly and holds up to everyday use.

When you choose Steel River Customs, you work directly with me—the person discussing your idea, planning the project and building it in the shop. There’s no salesperson or customer-service department in between. I take the time to understand what you want, communicate honestly and find the best way to bring your idea to life.

You don’t need professional drawings or every detail figured out. Some customers come to me with a complete plan. Others send a picture, a rough sketch or simply ask, “Can you make something like this?”

That’s often all it takes to get started.

Outside the shop, I’m a husband, dog dad and cat dad. My family and local community are a big part of what makes Steel River Customs meaningful to me. I’m proud to support local charities, fundraisers and community projects by donating custom pieces, helping raise money and using my skills for causes that matter.

Steel River Customs is more than a business to me. It’s an opportunity to connect with people, solve problems and create work that has a lasting purpose.
